About Burghgraef van Tiel
Burghgraef van Tiel was founded in 2004 by Johan van Tiel and Jurjen Burghgraef. Johan was the initiator and, until 2004, he was a loss assessor specialised in identifying the causes of damage. These causes were then again central to the prevention advice that could be drawn up for similar companies. And so, we were able to contribute to damage reduction.

With broad technical experience and an extensive knowledge of causes of damage and risks, Burghgraef van Tiel operates in all segments of the commercial sector, ranging from SME’s to stock-listed companies, the non-profit sector and semi-government institutions. Regular clients include more than 40 insurers. In addition, the reports from Burghgraef van Tiel are accepted by the largest reinsurers in the world.
Over the years, we have gathered a reliable network of professional partners around us. This makes us a one-stop shop for all questions and services in the field of risk advice and risk prevention. Not only for insurers, insurance brokers and insurance advisers, but also for companies.
Since there is a great demand for risk engineers – the profession must be learned in practice – we have set ourselves the goal of training new risk engineers. That is why we offer training ‘on the job’, seminars and workshops for risk experts. We also provide training for underwriters and intermediaries.
We are there for you if you need us! Make an appointment for an (no-obligation) exploratory conversation on 085-489 93 00 or email us at info@risicoinspecties.nl

Corporate Social Responsibility
Co-operation
We are in constant dialogue with our stakeholders to learn how they feel about Troostwijk as a service provider, but also what they think about individual subareas. This is to ensure that we align our service provision and contribution to society with the expectations of our stakeholders. This can create dilemmas, as each stakeholder has individual interests.
We believe that the best way to solve complex issues is to make sure that all parties involved work together. This belief is confirmed every day in our service provision.
Social issues
The social issues that we all face require collective involvement of citizens, government and the business community. As Troostwijk is part of the society, we are keen to contribute to solutions for social issues. Our expertise in a multitude of subjects makes us extremely suitable for working together towards a more transparent, sustainable society.
Culture
Culture broadens the view on society. In today’s multicultural society, Troostwijk shows its commitment by sponsoring various cultural initiatives.
Sponsoring
Burghgraef van Tiel annually sponsors the KWF and the Dutch Heart Foundation through Step460. In addition to direct sponsoring, Troostwijk likes to sponsor (indirectly) companies who are culturally or socially involved in the society. The form of sponsoring involves valuations for insurance purposes of machinery and equipment and buildings. Troostwijk offers this type of sponsoring for example to the Ronald McDonald Child Fund and Artis Amsterdam.
